Our CSR commitments

"Acting as a trusted partner to make the world safer, more sustainable and source of shared progress": this is our Group's corporate purpose. It is the basis for the actions we take on behalf of our employees and customers in the areas of health, safety and the environment in order to preserve human life and ecosystems.

A contributive

corporate purpose

The Apave Group's corporate purpose is "to act as a trusted player for a safer, more sustainable world that promotes shared progress.".

Our raison d'être reflects the contribution that Apave and its 13,000 employees wish to make to the world of today and tomorrow, based on 4 social and environmental commitments:

  • Guaranteeing safer progress
  • Promoting more collective progress
  • Building more sustainable progress
  • Defending shared progress, accessible to all

For over 150 years, we have accompanied major technological changes and revolutions by developing expertise to guarantee the safety of people, property and the environment.

Since mid-2022, we have been stepping up our action on sustainability with the definition of our new 2030 Sustainable Development strategy.

we act in accordance with our corporate purpose

Guaranteeing safer progress

Safety is the foundation of all progress. Preventing, controlling and managing risks to ensure a safe and secure working environment is Apave's DNA. For a number of years, Apave has been pursuing an active risk prevention policy with a strong ambition shared by all and expressed in a concrete approach: "Objective Zero Accidents".

Whether on the road, at our customers' sites or on the company's premises, our 13,000 employees apply the 8 safety principles defined by the Group, establishing a safety culture within the company.

More collective progress

Progress is built collectively. As a recognised and accredited third-party organisation (e.g. COFRAC* in France), Apave positions itself as a trusted partner for its customers by providing its expertise and adapting to their challenges, their specific needs and new regulations. Throughout the world, the Apave Group relies on the commitment of its employees and their desire to be trusted partners. And because progress must be shared, Apave trains its teams and shares its expertise with its customers so that they can become players in safety.

Building more sustainable progress

Progress must be sustainable and contribute to preserving human life and ecosystems.

To make progress on climate action, Apave has been carrying out a GHG assessment of its activities for several years. For the 2022 financial year, an in-depth measurement of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions has been carried out on the basis of a GHG Protocol-compliant accounting system.

In addition to the initiatives undertaken by the Group to better control and reduce its GHG footprint, many Group employees are involved in individual or collective initiatives to protect the environment.

Defending shared progress, accessible to all

To be sustainable, progress must be as equitable and inclusive as possible. As a service company, Apave works for greater inclusion, good living together and solidarity within the community, so that every employee can develop with commitment and pride.

Our business,

is to help our customers achieve successful sustainable transitions.

ommitting to social, societal, environmental, energy and digital transitions requires technical and human expertise in sustainability.

As a leading player in risk management, Apave has developed a range of Green&Social solutions to ensure that sustainable development and safety are an integral part of its customers' business plans and day-to-day operations.

Apave's experts work alongside technical, operational and management teams to put CSR at the heart of their projects and day-to-day operations, through concrete diagnostic, training, support, verification and assessment actions.

Decathlon - Apave Certification

It's a very concrete demonstration of our sustainable development strategy for real estate, visible to our customers and very much in line with our outdoor playground, which is our planet [...] We carried out this first test in Saint-Malo and we currently have around twenty shops undergoing work or being studied that we are going to label.

Training in Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heating (HVAC)

Dry cleaner, childminder, bakery sales assistant, cashier in a furniture and decoration chain... If I've learnt anything from my various professional experiences, it's that I enjoy contact with customers. But routine, repetitive jobs?
not for me! I found out about the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Maintenance Technician course when I was doing a skills assessment, and I have to say that I wasn't disappointed by the diversity of the assignments, which call on a wide range of skills and even a knowledge of mathematics. If I had a message to pass on to women looking for work, I'd tell them to dare to take the plunge. I'm living proof that it's possible to succeed and that age isn't an obstacle - quite the contrary!

a player in digital transitions

The Apave Group is strengthening its position as a trusted third party by extending its expertise, previously based on the management of technical, human and environmental risks, to include support for its customers in managing digital risks.

Cybersecurity diagnosis

First of all, the diagnostic enabled us to reassure ourselves about the processes in place and our level of cyber protection in general. The security of IBOO was demonstrated, with no critical flaws identified. The suggestion of additional actions that could be deployed to support our strong growth as part of a medium-term strategy was also very welcome. Today, the Apave Group's expertise in support, consultancy and workplace safety is well established.
When a group like yours positions itself to manage digital risks and surrounds itself with experts in cyber security, we're in good hands.

our integrated report

In 2022, Apave has developed a new GHG accounting framework, in line with the GHG Protocol, with a view to defining the Group's decarbonisation strategy. (see pages 42 and 43 of the integrated report).

Carrying out the 2022 GHG report in line with this new accounting standard has led to a number of major methodological changes:

  • Improved data collection across 65 Group entities
  • Improving the exhaustiveness of Scope 3 accounting - Calculating Scope 2 on a market-based and location-based basis
  • Design of an estimation methodology for missing data.

This new accounting framework, together with the estimation methodology and the 2022 GHG balance sheet, has been critically reviewed by a third-party expert in carbon accounting.

This work will be the subject of continuous improvement over the coming years, with the aim of setting an example in terms of transparency and authenticity in the decarbonisation process within the ICT sector and beyond.
